        Keeping our Members Safe

Picture
During the 2020 summer season there were no incidence of Covid 19 at Hillside Aquatic Club.  This year for the summer of 2021, we will plan to operate our facilities as we would on a normal summer with the exception of following the guidelines for the capacity of members.  We will cap our memberships with whatever the current guidelines are.  This is how we operated last year.  Of course any rules for masks and distancing will apply.

If you feel uncomfortable or are concerned about your own health and choose not to join the pool this year, we completely understand.  You will be more than welcome to join as a returning member next summer.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report there is currently no evidence that COVID-19 can spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas or water play areas. The agency says proper maintenance, including disinfection with chlorine and bromine, should inactivate the virus in the water.

Government lab experiments show that the coronavirus does not survive long in high temperatures and high humidity, and is quickly destroyed by sunlight.

How Sunlight, the Immune System, and Covid-19 Interact

"The benefits of sunlight may extend beyond its ability to slay Covid-19 outside the body. When people are exposed to UV light, this may cause changes inside the human body that both strengthen the immune system and block Covid-19 from replicating and causing severe illness."

In response to living in a world with the issue of Covid 19 we will be taking the following precautions to maintain the safety of our members.
  • SOCIAL DISTANCING, WASHING YOUR HANDS, AND REMEMBERING TO NOT TOUCHING YOUR FACE WITH UNCLEAN HANDS,  IS THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO TO PREVENT GETTING SICK.
  • IF YOU ARE EXHIBITING ANY SYMPTOMS OF ILLNESS STAY HOME - DO NOT COME TO THE POOL.
  • If there is a line, stay at least 6 feet apart by family as you enter
  • No contact sign in - guards will sign members in at the window
  • We ask that families stay socially distanced  on the grounds.  We have a large property where people can spread out.  Our umbrellas are more than 12 feet apart , but if you choose to sit elsewhere, we ask that you keep an acceptable distance from other families around you.
  • Remain socially distanced around the pool deck area
  • Remain socially distanced in the locker rooms - they are large and there is plenty of room to stay separated.
  • Guards will regularly attend bathrooms to keep them clean and sanitized after use.
  • Masks - Should NOT be worn in the pool, and you do not need to wear them as you sit in the sun.
  • If you are in a space such as ordering food, at the snack bar, please bring a mask along when social distancing can not be maintained.
  • If you are using picnic tables wipe down your area when you leave, and let the guards know when you are finished so they can clean the area
